The schematics provided are wrong.  The digital outputs should be connected to pins 2-9, not 0-7  You can see this in the code and the photos.  Pins 0 and 1 are transmit and receive.  They have serial port data on them.

As far as I can tell - VAC does not route MIDI.  We used LoopBe1.  No 10-minute timeouts - works well.
